Symposium on “Humanistic AI”

InfraVis is together with Huminfra and Swe-Clarin co-sponsoring a one-day symposium on ‘Humanistic AI’ on Wednesday, June 19. This hybrid event will take place at the Faculty of Humanities, University of Gothenburg, Sweden, and is hosted by The Gothenburg Research Infrastructure in Digital Humanities (GRIDH) at the University of Gothenburg and The Swedish School of Library and Information Science (SSLIS) at the University of Borås.

The symposium will explore the emerging field of ‘Humanistic AI,’ focusing on how humanities practices are using, developing, and interrogating AI, primarily in Sweden and neighboring countries. It aims to provide a platform for researchers and practitioners to share experiences and discuss the impact of AI on humanities research and cultural heritage. The event will also address the ethical, cultural, and societal implications of AI in the humanities.

The aim is to after the symposium invite the presenters to submit their revised and expanded presentations for publication in a peer-reviewed anthology or special issue on Humanistic AI.
