InfraVis call 2026

Dear Researcher,

Scope

Academic research today relies on analysing data from a wide range of sources, including experiments, simulations, observations, sensors, text, surveys, and large datasets. InfraVis supports these workflows through advanced data analysis and visualization. InfraVis brings together over 50 experts across nine universities in Sweden, providing access to specialised expertise, tools, and visualization laboratories for working with large and complex data.

Application Requirements

  • The applicant must be a Principal Investigator (PI) with a PhD and an active position at a Swedish academic institution. The project must include plans for scientific dissemination, such as:
    • A peer-reviewed publication acknowledging InfraVis, and/or
    • National outreach activities (e.g. a Dome visualisation production).
  • The research team must be actively engaged in the collaboration to support co-design, knowledge transfer, and evaluation. The application must describe datasets (existing or planned) in sufficient detail for InfraVis support. Ethical approvals and handling of sensitive data must be managed by the applicant. Data storage and transfer must be managed by the applicant.

InfraVis applies a subsidised cost model for this call (see below).

Levels of Support from InfraVis

InfraVis offers support all year round – but during the annual call, the workshops offer a unique opportunity for applying researchers to get hands-on help with their in-depth application. There are three levels of support in InfraVis: under 10 hours, under 80 hours, and under 600 hours. This call addresses the second and third levels called “mid-level” and “in-depth support”, respectively. You will apply for in-depth support and during the review process, and InfraVis will assess whether the project receives in-depth support or mid-level support.
