About

I am an Associate Professor in  Visualization at the Department of Computational Science and Technology (CST) at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at  KTH. I am also the national technical manager and local node coordinator of the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet) National Research Infrastructure in Visualization InfraVis. I am a Fulbright Scholar from Ecuador and a graduate of Georgia Tech (PhD Computer Science, 2009), University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (Master Computer Science, 2001), and Universidad San Francisco de Quito (BS Industrial Engineering and BS Construction Engineering , 1996). I am also a technical co-founder of  BrailleTouch , a smartphone keyboard for blind users, and  Anymaker, a tablet application for sketching in 3D. Dr. Romero’s research centers in Human-Computer Interaction, Visualization, and Ubiquitous and Accessible Computing.
