Treesearch, a national collaboration platform, held a workshop at MAX IV Laboratory in Lund, to inspire researchers and scientists to explore the application of synchrotron-based techniques. The workshop was aimed at new users, focusing on building user confidence.
InfraVis Application Expert Alexandros Sopasakis, from the Lund University node, presented InfraVis to the audience, highlighting the many possibilities that InfraVis provides, whether it is a small request of a few hours or a large project of a few hundred hours.
In the coffee break Jonas Ahlstedt, also an Application Expert based at Lund University, demonstrated a virtual reality tour of the ForMax beamline. Given that researchers often have a very limited amount of time that they can spend at the laboratory, this virtual guide helps the user familiarize themselves with the beamline before the actual experiments are taking place.
The other presenters were Magnus Larsson who was welcoming the participants to MAX IV Laboratory; Kim Nygård, introducing ForMax; Jonas Engqvist presenting the 4D Imaging Lab; and Trevor Forsyth from LINXS.
Treesearch is focused on research and competence-building in new materials from forest- and wood-based raw materials. It brings together academia, industry, private foundations, and the state to create an open research environment for the future bioeconomy. Its mission is to develop sustainable, wood-based materials and technologies.
