I am a Professor of Astronomy at the Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Lund University. My astronomical research work is focussed on answering three questions: 1) How common are planetary systems which contain habitable worlds? 2) How do black holes form, grow and interact with their surroundings? 3) What powers the most-energetic explosions in the Universe?
