InfraVis user Helena Filipsson took part in the Ocean Sciences Meeting in Glasgow, a conference with 6000 marine researchers. Several collaborative InfraVis contributions were highlighted. The team presented their work on artificial cod reefs, demonstrating how InfraVis expertise supports automated fish recognition in underwater video material. In the outreach segment, visitors were invited to “dive without getting wet” through a VR experience that brought marine environments to life.
Nivedita Naveen also showcased museum samples containing foraminifera that were scanned using the ForMAX beamline at MAXIV in Lund, a project in which Emanuel Larsson, the Lund University node coordinator, is deeply involved. Together, these presentations illustrated how InfraVis supports marine research through advanced visualization, analysis, and immersive communication tools.
