InfraVis Secures Continued Funding from the Swedish Research Council

We are proud to announce that InfraVis has been granted another round of funding from the Swedish Research Council!

Building on its early success, InfraVis continues its mission to provide cutting-edge support, training, and awareness of visualization across all fields of research. What began as a visionary idea has now become a vital national infrastructure that researchers actively rely on.

Monica Billger, Director of InfraVis, reflects on this journey:
“We have gone from an idea to a national infrastructure that researchers actually rely on – now we can build on with even greater ambitions. InfraVis has shown that when we gather cutting-edge expertise in visualization, Swedish research can take big steps.”

InfraVis also has fruitful collaboration with other national research infrastructures, such as the MAX IV laboratory, the National Academic Infrastructure for Supercomputing in Sweden (NAISS), and Swedish National Data Service (SND).

As the Swedish Research Council report “Bottlenecks that delay the benefits of large-scale research infrastructure” pointed out, one of the biggest challenges researchers face is handling, analysis and visualization of data. InfraVis will be there to support Swedish science on this mission, thereby strengthening Sweden’s position as a global leader in data-driven research and visualization.

Anders Ynnerman, Chairman and one of the founders of InfraVis, emphasizes the broader significance:
“InfraVis is breaking new grounds by being an infrastructure focused on competence and services that support a wide range of scientific areas in need of advanced visual data analysis. In doing this InfraVis is strengthening the impact of Swedish research and promotes excellence in strategic domains”.

At its core, visualization is about making complex information clear, accessible, and impactful. With this renewed support, InfraVis can continue helping researchers across Sweden make their science visible, understandable, and influential — both nationally and internationally.

We look forward to the coming years of collaboration, innovation, and discovery.

InfraVis will continue to make Swedish research more visible, impactful, and internationally competitive.
